About
Born and raised in New Jersey, AceWonda is a hip-hop artist who blends lyrical skills with musical versatility. He started rapping at the age of 12, inspired by the likes of Redman, AZ, and Royce 5'9. He soon developed his own style and began making a name for himself from local ciphers and recordings shared across the region.
After moving to Maryland, where he finished high school and went on to attend Howard University, he continued to pursue his passion for music. He released his debut project, The Simon Williams Project, which received critical acclaim and positive feedback from fans. The album showcased his diverse influences, ranging from boom bap to trap, and featured collaborations with local artists and producers. AceWonda also performed at various venues and events, gaining a loyal following in the DMV area.
The pandemic provided time for him to build his own studio. Always eager to pickup new skillsets, he thrusted himself head first into learning how to mix and master his own tracks, giving him full creative control over his sound. Over the last few years, he has released multiple collaborative albums with a range of talented emcees, as well as a solo EP, Sophisticated Syntax.
AceWonda is currently promoting his latest project, Even Rebels Say Grace, which was released New Year's Eve 2023. He has plans to release his first full length solo LP in 2024 and promises to deliver more original and innovative music, while also staying true to his roots. AceWonda is not just a rapper, he is a musician, a storyteller, and a visionary. He is on a mission to make his mark in the hip-hop scene and beyond.
